Brickland police announced today that the Brickland Grocery fire in early July was set. Using surveillance footage from surrounding buildings, police caught the arsonist running from the building. Additional footage shows the arsonist running past Brickland’s world renowned orthopedic surgeon, David Sobel. In interviews with police, Dr. Sobel was asked why he did not try to apprehend the criminal. Dr. Sobel stated that the sun was in his eyes (despite sunglasses seen in the images) and his five fingers sailing shoes did not provide enough traction to chase the criminal.
